Gemling[LT] (Legendary)

Category: BA Muatations
nLT | LTLT
Trait Count - 5
Created by Longtailsally

Gemling causes gems to grow from a Beatus' coat. The gems can grow pretty much anywhere, but avoid joints and soft spots as to not cause hindrance on a BAs quality of life.
Gemling was made to celebrate longtailsally 's birthday, so it is only importable during the month of May. It also has a 30% chance to randomly appear in May breedings.

When breeding a Gemling the foal's gem colors will be directly influenced by the parent or parents. Meaning, colors, design, and locations. They won't be exact copies, but there does need to be an obvious influence.

Traits and Markings
Gems growing from the body.

Examples

Angora (Uncommon)

Category: Coat Mutations
Trait Count - 2

Angora causes the coat of a Beatus to grow longer, and at times, thicker. This is easily visible on their faces and underbellies, as almost all angoras will have some kind of beard, big or small.

Bald (Rare)

Category: Coat Mutations
Trait Count - 3

A bald Beatus is like a Sphynx cat. They don't grow fur, or at times, they grow a very thin coat. They are prone to sunburn and need specialized riding tack to not irritate their skin.

Designing a Bald Beatus can be tricky at times. The easiest way is to design them with a thin coat, as that changes the design the least. However, you must include more skin than what's on a normal import.
Another way to go about designing a bald Beatus, is to give them no fur what-so-ever. In this manner, their 'coat' is just their skin color. Most white markings will display on a full bald, and some mutations. BA mutations are still in debate about what will and won't show on a full bald coat.

Curly (Uncommon)

Category: Coat Mutations
Trait Count - 2

Curly causes just that, for a Beatus coat and mane to become curly. This can range from loose curls that are hard to see on their coat, to extremely tight curls. Curly coats are desirable in Beatus that are heavily shown.

Lykoi (Legendary)

Category: Coat Mutations
Trait Count - 5

Lykoi is the result of combining Angora and Bald coat types.

Dum Salve (Legendary)

Trait Count - 5

Dum Salve is the result of combining Angora and Curly coat types.

Rex (Legendary)

Category: Coat Mutations
Trait Count - 5

Dum Salve is the result of combining Bald and Curly coat types.

Unnatural Headset (Legendary)

Category: Head Mutations
Trait Count - 5

Horns aren't a very common sight in BAs, but have begun to be more prevalent in domesticated Beatus'. Almost no wild BAs have been seen with horns, excluding those seen with Fawncy, and even when a wild BA is seen to have horns, they aren't extravagant. Wild Beatus that have horns will often have more basic horns that aid them in survival.

Unnatural Horns are typically only seen in domesticated BAs, this is due to how brightly colored their horns tend to be when unnatural. Horns will be bright and vibrant in color. Color muts DO still go over unnatural horn colors.
A headset is any singular symmetric PAIR of horns located on the head.
Headsets can be connected, either to themselves or to other horns.

Expression Examples

Blind (Free)

Category: Head Mutations
Trait Count - 0

Blindness is just that, the horse can't see. There isn't much of a physical difference appearance-wise, but it takes a toll. Some horses are only partially blind, instead of completely blind, this is up to the owner! You can choose if they are 100% blind, partially blind in both eyes, or blind in only one.
Blindness is common in dom white and overo horses, along with splashes.
Blindness can be Rolled in Breedings

Effects
Cannot perform in these disciplines unaided; Agility, Jumping, Pole Bending, Hunting, and Quests

Deaf (Free)

Category: Head Mutations
Trait Count - 0

A deaf Beatus can't hear outside noises. There is no physical difference, though some deaf horses have floppy ears, due to having no use for them. Some horses are partially deaf, instead of completely deaf. Beatus can still communicate via their telepathy with other Beatus, their handlers, and other species that have/use telepathy.
Deafness is common in splash and dom white horses, along with overos.
Blindness can be Rolled in Breedings

Effects
Cannot perform in these disciplines unaided; Hunting and Quests
